Hi James, what a great report on Possums. I laughed when I read the bit about your Dad patting one cause he thought it was your cat. Possums are kind of cute but I know farmers don't like them and they are not very good for our native birds as they steal the eggs.
ReplyDeleteWow James, what a great report, you have so many personal encounters with possums. I have to say I am not a fan of possums, I find the noise they make that sounds like they are laughing very creepy.
ReplyDeleteWe have always trapped the possums at my parents place because my Dad worked for Manaaki Whenua (Landcare Research) and they are about protecting our native animals and plants, which possums destroy. I am glad you like possums though, was the baby possum soft to touch?
Hi Miss Hart
DeleteWe do trap the possums here as we do not have many native animal around us.
However we do trap them in Westport as they carry TB and this is bad for the cows.
Hi James, thats good to hear. I didn't know possums carried TB, thank you for teaching me.
